Saul S. Komisar, MBA, joins Transworld Business Advisors as a proven executive with a track record of success in creating, building acquiring and selling businesses of all sizes. Mr. Komisar started his career in the Healthcare Finance Division of SunTrust Banks managing and growing a portfolio of over $100 million. After a four year career with SunTrust, Mr. Komisar started his first business in medical waste management, which would be sold four years later to a public company. Mr. Komisar was then recruited to join Protherics Plc, a London based biotechnology company, with operations around the world. Mr. Komisar ultimately became the President Protherics and was instrumental in taking the company public on NASDAQ, leading the company’s growth through several acquisitions, and ultimately selling the company to BTG plc for close to $500 million. After thirteen years with Protherics, Mr. Komisar returned to his banking roots and was one of five organizers of federally chartered Franklin Synergy Bank. As both an Organizer and Board Director, Mr. Komisar played an early role in growing the bank to now over One Billion in assets and also served a non-executive credit administration function. After spending many years buying, selling, growing and financing companies in Utah and abroad, Mr. Komisar founded Transworld Business Advisors of Utah in Salt Lake City. Mr. Komisar is a writer and contributor to various business publications including Harvard Business Review. He has been educated in such notable institutions as Stanford University, University of Chicago, Cambridge University, and Vanderbilt University where he received his MBA. Mr. Komisar spends his free time skiing, watching and coaching his two teenage children in various sports and serving on the leadership committees and Board of Directors of several for profit and charitable institutions, including Oak Hill Academy, Young Leaders Council, The AIDS Project and Friends of Radnor Lake.
